Garden shape FLEURIG by Stalen Design is a decorative garden shape and steel wall decoration for outdoors, also known as a garden ornament, wall flower, garden decoration, corten steel flower, and metal garden element. The set consists of 6 flowers for the wall and adds a playful and natural accent to any facade, fence, garden wall, or canopy.

These garden ornaments are made from 1 mm thick Corten steel. Outdoors, this material develops a warm rust patina that protects the steel against weather influences. The natural rust layer makes every flower unique and provides a durable, weather-resistant finish with a warm aesthetic.

The flowers each measure approximately 10 x 10 cm and are supplied as a set of 6. You can easily attach the FLEURIG Garden Ornament to the wall with stainless steel nails. Designed and produced in the Netherlands – pure Dutch Design.

CORTEN STEEL

About Corten steel

Corten steel is a high-quality metal alloy consisting of iron enriched with copper, phosphorus, silicon, nickel, and chromium. It is known for its distinctive rust-brown color and natural industrial aesthetic.

What makes Corten steel unique is the dense oxide film (rust layer) that forms on the surface. This layer protects the underlying material from oxygen, which significantly slows down the rusting process and allows the metal to last for years — without rusting through.

Important to know

  • Corten steel is supplied as standard in its original, grey metallic state (unrusted).
  • Minor imperfections in the corten steel (such as scratches/steel production codes) will become invisible during the rusting process.
  • Within approximately 1 to 2 months, a rust-coloured patina layer will form — completely natural, without any additional treatment.
  • During the rusting process, the material may stain surfaces or surrounding elements.
  • Corten steel is suitable for outdoor use in all weather conditions and does not require a coating.

Maintenance tips

  • Let the rusting process take its course. Do not use any chemical agents or oils.
  • Prevent moisture stains during storage: unpack the material immediately upon receipt.
  • Avoid standing water on horizontal surfaces to limit staining.
  • Clean only with water and a soft brush if desired — do not use aggressive cleaning agents.
  • When mounting on sensitive surfaces: consider a spacer or edge finish to prevent rust runoff.
