The KRAM Bird Feeder by Stalen Design is a sleekly designed bird feeder, also known as a feeding station, feeding table, or bird feeding spot. Thanks to its modern pitched roof and smart design, this design object offers a sheltered feeding place for garden birds. The pole-mounted model is ideal for those who want to attract birds in an open garden or border.

The birdhouse is made of 1.5 mm thick Corten steel, a durable and maintenance-free metal that develops a rust-colored patina due to weather exposure. This natural oxide layer protects the material and gives it a warm, robust appearance that fits perfectly in a green outdoor setting.

Assembly is simple. Attach the base to a post with a diameter of 6–8 cm (not included) using the provided stainless steel screws. Then, attach the roof using the included nuts and bolts. Suitable for placement in the garden, along a garden path, or near a patio.

About Corten steel

Corten steel is a high-quality metal alloy consisting of iron enriched with copper, phosphorus, silicon, nickel, and chromium. It is known for its distinctive rust-brown color and natural industrial aesthetic.

What makes Corten steel unique is the dense oxide film (rust layer) that forms on the surface. This layer protects the underlying material from oxygen, which significantly slows down the rusting process and allows the metal to last for years — without rusting through.

Important to know

Corten steel is supplied as standard in its original, grey metallic state (unrusted).
Minor imperfections in the corten steel (such as scratches/steel production codes) will become invisible during the rusting process.
Within approximately 1 to 2 months, a rust-coloured patina layer will form — completely natural, without any additional treatment.
During the rusting process, the material may stain surfaces or surrounding elements.
Corten steel is suitable for outdoor use in all weather conditions and does not require a coating.

Maintenance tips

Let the rusting process take its course. Do not use any chemical agents or oils.
Prevent moisture stains during storage: unpack the material immediately upon receipt.
Avoid standing water on horizontal surfaces to limit staining.
Clean only with water and a soft brush if desired — do not use aggressive cleaning agents.
When mounting on sensitive surfaces: consider a spacer or edge finish to prevent rust runoff.
